Retrospective on Teguc - first run
I was ready to begin writing about our new life here in South Bend, but decided I should probably spend a bit of time writing about our two months inn teguc, since I didn’t write much when I was there. Those of you who read my previous post know that the month leading up to that point was a very challenging month, in which we struggled to adjust to Teguc, spent time discerning our international life as a family, were blessed with a pregnancy, became more fully aware of the security and safety situation in Teguc, decided the international life wasn’t quite for us, found out we had lost the baby, and moved home. It was one of the hardest months of my life, and with so much going on, I found it too much to post about our daily lives.
So here we are with a summary of our 8 weeks in tegucigalpa. It will probably span two posts since it’s so long.
– Jacob played with lots of playdough, painted with watercolors, and learned about shapes
– Maggie helped with the laundry
– Found a really big praying mantis on the back porch
– Enjoyed our big front porch
– Found Jesus - Cristo del Picacho, to be more specific. This is the HUGE Jesus statue (in El Picacho national park) we could see from across the valley. Jacob was really impressed with how big his toe was.
I realized that in not finishing this massive post, I was precluding myself from posting on South Bend. So i’ll finish this one sometime later this month - well, at least by Christmas.
